We have both been waking up with aches and pains from a horrible mattress that we're unable to switch. Our only hope was to find a mattress topper that could make the uncomfortable, nightmare-of-a-mattress tolerable. This product did that and more, and provided everything it promises! We now sleep comfortably, and the aches and pains have gone away! There was a slight factory smell to the topper when it was first opened, but it went away after about 12 hours of being out of the plastic. We notice no smell at all, and have only positive things to report. We definitely recommend this product!!! We have a deeper mattress so to make the bed I covered the topper with its own fitted sheet then covered the whole deal with The Big One sheet set from Kohl's. I was amazed that it fit over the whole thing. When we opened this and put it on the bed it felt fine. Over time, about a month, I realized it was simply too firm for me and gave me aches.
